FAQs

How many kilometers do we ride per day?
Our motorbike tours are not in a race. We travel slowly so that you could enjoy the scenic landscape, experience the rich cultures of ethnic minority groups and make sure you won't miss any photo opportunities during the ride. We usually ride about 120 - 160 kilometers daily. Our goal is to help you to enjoy the motorcycle ride as we do and to take in as much of the local cultures as possible. It’s a trip of a lifetime, we don’t want you to miss anything!
Do I need a valid Vietnamese motorbike driving license?
If you ride pillion on the back of the tour guide's motorbike, then you don't need to have a driving license or experience. You can just sit back, relax, enjoy and take a million photos! ;)

If you drive the motorbike by yourself, then a valid national driving permit or a valid license with motorbike amendment from your home country. That is all required because you are on a guided motorbike tour with us.
What are the payment options in Vietnam?
Vietnamese people prefer to be paid by cash (in Vietnam Dong). You can check the exchange rate between your country's currency and Vietnam Dong at www.xe.com. You don't need to exchange your money in advance or bring a lot of cash to Vietnam as you can withdraw cash at the ATMs which are available every day on our tours.

See the real Vietnam - 10 stars

I have just finished a 9 day ride with Jack (Hit The Road Jack!) Initially I had booked a 6 day excursion to Hoi An from Dalat. But we extended our ride to the border at Lao Bao so I could renew my visa and then came down via Hue. Jack couldn't have been more accomodating. The views on the Ho Chi Minh trail are truly breath taking, I have learned all about the agriculture of Vietnam, the lives and architecture of the ethnic minorities of this region and seen some fascinating artifacts from the war. Jack was able to accomodate my dietary requirements and shown me many local dishes I would never have known existed on my own. Not to mention the local eateries are cheaper more authentic and more flavourful than the tourist restaurants found in major cities. Something I would have never discovered on my own as a vegetarian. The trip was not with out hurdles but Jack was diligent and considerate, I unfortunately became very sick and was unable to leave the bathroom all night. Jack reorganised the hotels, ensured we could remain put while I recovered and unprompted delivered me food fluids and medicines to speed my recovery, by the next day I could ride and we made up for lost time admirably. Jack is an excellent companion to ride with, knowledgeable, affable and quick with a joke, he made the 9 days a breeze, and with 17 years of touring under his belt he knows the roads like the back of his hand and rides safely, and comfortably. Highly recommended if you want to see a side of Vietnam off the tourist trail. 5 stars.

A real motorcycle excursion!

My partner and I did a 6 day motorbike trip from Da Lat to Hoi An in late January 2023. We loved our experience. We wanted to get off the tourist trail and that's exactly what we got (apart from a few must-have spots of course). We had our own motorbike and our two excellent guides (Chinh and Hung) carried our luggage on theirs. The roads are beautiful, safe and the views in different places breathtaking. They were really attentive to our needs. They introduced us to local food, explained a lot about Vietnam's history, connected us with resources for our future excursions, and more. The quality of hotels along the route is good. Some hotels in remote areas do not offer the comfort of those in cities but are still acceptable. Provide warm clothing depending on the conditions encountered. I recommend this agency to everyone.

Unforgettable experience - Dalat to Hoi An Motorbike Tour

An incredible experience with an amazing guide. We had high hopes for this trip and they were more than met by the Easy Rider team. Our guide was the fabulous Chinh who was experienced, informative, knowledgeable, attentive, flexible to our requests and above all great fun to travel with. He took us to a brilliant mix of tourist spots and places off the beaten track we would never have found, and the local restaurants he knows are amazing. The bikes were great and Chinh was there to service them if needed. 7 truly unforgettable days - thank you Chinh!! (One tip we would suggest is to bring your own helmet or invest in a new one out there, especially if you are going to do the riding. The ones provided weren’t great, and while the driving experience in Vietnam is really exciting there were some pretty hairy moments. We also brought our own comms units so we could chat on the road - a worthwhile investment to enjoy sharing what we saw as we were driving - and to warn each other of some of the less predictable driving manoeuvres from our fellow motorists…)

Fantastic Dalat to Hoi An Motorbike Tour

We purely enjoyed our 6-days-tour from Dalat to Hoi An with Dat and Hung, our great Easy Rider guides! Overall, this tour showed us that it contains much more than just nice sceneries but rather getting to know Vietnams culture, tradition and it’s people. Me and my wife still talk about this amazing adventure along our trip. We‘ll never forget all the great jokes with our guides, the delicious local food (vegetarian options included) and unforgettable encounters with children and adults from different minority groups. We didn’t need to worry about anything: Good English-speaking guides who could answer all our questions, we always felt safe on the back of their bikes so we could enjoy the beautiful landscape while letting our thoughts run free.

Best time in Vietnam with best Easy Riders

We had the most amazing 6 days on our Easy Riders bike tour from Dalat to Hoi An. I am not exactly sure what we had expected but we had the time of our lives and didn't want it to end. We had been visiting Vietnam for only 2 weeks so wanted to experience the real Vietnam in that time. We had four riders with us, Toan, Hung, Ace and Ty who were incredible. Hung had to go home in the middle of our trip due to a family illness but we then had Tin who joined us for the rest of the trip. We have never met such kind, caring and fun people and they really our time on the bikes very special. Each rider had something different about them which made the trip even more interesting. We started in Dalat visited small villages, tea plantations, brick making factories, rice noodle factories, flower factories, mushroom factories, we also went to an orphanage and many more amazing parts of Vietnam that we would never have seen if we hadn't been with Easy Riders. I would do it all again if I could and really recommend to anyone who is visiting Vietnam and wants to move away from the touristy parts and just experience the amazing country for what it really is. Toan, Hung/Tin, Ace and Ty were all incredible they were so fun and happy the whole time and extremely good riders. We always felt safe on the bikes (it was the first time for all of us on motorbikes) and even when the weather was bad they drove perfectly. I have never felt so lucky to have such great people to share our trip with and they knew so many amazing stories about Vietnam's history and their people. We were able to try so many different types of Vietnamese foods that I don't think we would have got the chance to if we had been doing the trip on our own. We have promised to come back and do the rest of Vietnam on the bikes with these guys, I have fallen in love with this country and one of the main reasons for this is Toan, Hung/Tin, Ace and Ty, so thank you so much. This is a must do trip and I will be recommending it to anyone who wants to visit Vietnam. Fay, Ben, Lee & Scott.

Once in a lifetime trip with Chinh and Linh

We went to the Dalat office to discuss doing the Hai Van pass. We ended up going from Dalat to Hoi An, a decision we haven't regretted. Driving through the mountains and avoiding the usual tourist traps Chinh and Linh showed us the real Vietnam. Stopping on the way for a refreshing dive in the pool of a waterfall, visiting all kinds of plantations and home productions made for a wonderful trip. After Hoi An we decided to extend our trip, so we continued with them from Hoi An, via Danang, Hue and Khe Sanh through the Central Highlands to Phong Nha. We decided to extend our trip once more, starting in Hanoi. As Linh had a new group, Chinh continued with us, arranging an extra motorcycle so that I could drive myself. We then did an extended Ha Giang loop, continuing to Ninh Binh. Then back to Hanoi, where our roads parted. Chinh and Linh have been wonderful drivers and guides, very flexible and thinking along with us for the best experience. In twenty days they gave us one of our best holidays ever. These two will make your trip in Vietnam unforgettable.

Great tour guides, comfy bikes and breathtaking scenery

Guides could not do enough for us. They asked what we were interested in at the beginning of the trip, we wanted good food, good coffee and to go off the beaten track. They gave us all of these things. Anytime we mentioned something interesting in passing they went out of their way to get it for us. All of us were first-time bikers and were a little apprehensive before doing the tour, however our fears were unwarranted. The guys made us feel at ease immediately. They were very personable, extremely funny and their English was very good. It was worth every penny however if meals were included (or at the very least breakfast) it would make it more doable for people on a tight budget. Having said that the eateries they took us to were delicious and hugely affordable. ..we have pics to prove it. A special thanks to our drivers Ty, Vien, Bi and The for making it a trip to remember. Mot, hai, ba, yooooooo
